Touch
At Sensor ECS, we offer a comprehensive range of touch solutions designed to deliver precise and reliable operation in demanding industrial environments. Our touch technology is customised to work seamlessly in conditions where standard touchscreens often fail - such as in environments with dust, moisture, high temperature fluctuations or when used with gloves. We offer solutions that combine robustness, high precision and fast response, making them ideal for everything from production control and process monitoring to self-service solutions and advanced HMI applications.
With years of experience in industrial displays and touch technology, we can deliver both standard products and customised solutions to meet your technical requirements
Benefits and technical features
Our industrial touch solutions combine durability and precision with high usability. Key features include:
- Precise and fast response, even when using gloves or stylus.
- Different touch technologies: resistive, capacitive, projected capacitive (PCAP) and infrared.
- Multi-touch functionality for advanced interaction.
- High light transmission for optimal image quality.
- Robust construction with tempered glass and scratch-resistant surface.
- IP rating for protection against water and dust.
- Operation in temperature ranges from -30°C to +70°C.
- Chemical resistance for use in the food and pharmaceutical industry.
- Long lifetime with up to 50 million touches per point.
- Possibility of integration with TFT displays, panel PCs and industrial monitors.
Variants of touch technology
Resistive touch
Suitable for environments where simple and reliable operation is required. Resistive touch works by pressure and can be operated with gloves, stylus or other objects. This technology is resistant to dirt and moisture, making it ideal for industrial environments and outdoor use.
Capacitive touch
Capacitive touch provides high precision and fast response, especially for applications where multi-touch capabilities are required. The technology works best with direct finger touch, but can also be adapted for use with gloves. It delivers excellent image quality and is often used in modern HMI solutions.
Projected capacitive (PCAP) touch
PCAP touch is an advanced variant of capacitive technology that supports multi-touch and can work behind thick glass. This makes it ideal for environments that require high durability and protection against water, dust and chemicals.
Infrared touch
Infrared touch works by using a network of light beams across the surface of the screen. It allows for touch with almost any object and does not require physical pressure on the screen. The technology is suitable for large format and high durability applications.
Customisation options
We can customise touch solutions to perfectly fit your application and environmental requirements:
- Choice of touch technology depending on the application and operating method.
- Customisation of glass thickness, hardness and surface treatment.
- Integration with existing display solutions or newly developed enclosures.
- Adding chemical-resistant surfaces for demanding environments.
- Custom formats and sizes available.
- Sensitivity adjustment for use with different types of gloves.
- Branding options with logo or graphics on the front panel.
Touch solutions for challenging environments
Sensor ECS touch solutions are built to deliver reliable operation, even in extreme conditions:
- Production with dust, oil or moisture in the air.
- Outdoor installations with rain, snow and direct sunlight.
- Offshore and marine environments with salt water and corrosion.
- Food and pharmaceutical production with high hygiene requirements.
- ATEX certified areas where explosion safety is required.
Industry-specific applications
- Transport - driver information systems, ticket vending machines, passenger information.
- Industry - machine control, HMI panels, production lines.
- Marine - navigation systems, control panels.
- Warehouse and logistics - picking and inventory management systems.
- Oil and gas control systems in ATEX environments.
- Automation - process control, robot control.
