Dual screen and resolution in Windows 7
Why does the image not display correctly on both monitors when I use 1280×800 LVDS panels and switch to 800×600 in Windows 7?
If you are using two 1280×800 LVDS monitors and try to change the resolution to 800×600 in Windows 7, you will find that the image will not display normally on both monitors.
This is due to a technical limitation in the Cedar Trail chipset, which only supports one internal scaling unit (scalar). This means that the resolution cannot be adjusted individually for each display - causing aspect ratio and compatibility issues.
How do you solve it?
If you need dual displays with different resolutions, we recommend using a platform that supports this, such as Sensor ECS EPIC-HD07, which is designed with this flexibility in mind.
This solution allows you to:
- Run two different resolutions simultaneously
- Avoid image distortion and display errors
- Optimise the user experience on both screens
